A Quarter of A Century Years Old!!

This past Friday I woke up to this card and another one from Grant. I thought it was so sweet :) I have the absolute most WONDERFUL husband (and dogs) in the entire world. I am beyond Blessed!!!

I came home to Decatur on Friday afternoon and Grant had my birthday present waiting for me at his office. It was our carseat! I love love love it! It has great reviews and has been rated #1 in safety. It was really funny though because Grant and I had no idea how to use it...so my next door neighbor showed me what all the buttons meant and installed it into my car the next day! Thanks Annie!

24. 5 WEEKS!

How your baby's growing at 24 weeks: Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

State Champtions!!

I know its late...but my brother's baseball team won the 5A State Championship a couple of weeks ago!! They had a great time and so did we! This is Mac after the game :)

Mac is #14 - such a cute butt!

22 Weeks!

I had a GREAT First Mother's Day!! I got so many wonderful cards, phone calls, text messages and gifts from my friends and family. Grant woke me up with a really sweet Mommy-to-be card and then later that day I got another Mommy card from Cash and Derby. It was perfect!

How your baby's growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Charleston!!

Grant and I went to Charleston, SC a couple of weekends ago and had SO MUCH FUN!!! One of his best friends from college, Leslie Burr, got married so we went to see her and made a trip out of it :)

Charleston Harbor

Before our Ghost Tour!!!!! So fun!

The Bed & Breakfast that we stayed in...it looks very old from the outside, which it is, but the rooms were sooo nice. We stayed in the "Equestrian" room, it was awesome!

We stayed beside a bunch of horses, most people probably would not have appreciated that but I sure loved it!

One of the original cobblestone roads from the 1600's!

This is one of the Memorial gardens where they used to hang a lot of people, mostly pirates. The pirates' bones are still scattered all over the grounds (underground, of course) :)

One of the beautiful downtown homes, I could look at these all day!

One of my most favorite things in the whole world to do, go to old old cemeteries (wierd, I know!)

With one of Grant's best friends, Chris, and his girlfriend Kim

The only picture I got with the beautiful bride!

Of course I had to get a preggo pic!

Some more of Grant's buddies!

And the wives!

How Baby McKelvey is growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to him, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

19 Weeks!!

I am starting to feel the baby move like crazy. I started feeling him kick around 17.5 weeks, but now you can feel the kicks outside my belly. Every morning I wake up to him kicking so I lay in bed a good 10 minutes with my hand over my belly just enjoying all his little movements :)

Yes I realize my butt is as big as my stomach...lets hope it doesn't stay that way...

This was my dad's idea - to take a picture every month with the respective number of fingers held up...my mom did this when she was pregnant with me :)

16 weeks!

How the baby is growing: Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, the baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Grant's 31st Birthday

Grant's birthday was this past Saturday...I cannot believe that he is 31!! I had Grant's favorite kind of cake made for him (a Denise Lang cake). You can't really tell much from this picture, but it was camo designed. It was sooo good. We took it down to the beach with us this past weekend and I wanted to take a picture of it before it endured a 5 hour ride (thats why it's taken in the floor board) ;)

Friday night our Sunday school class celebrated both April Wills' and Grants' birthdays at April's house. We had a blast and these pictures do absolutely no justice to how funny it was to watch the boys play the wii. Grant was taking a break and sitting on the couch behind them playing with the kids of course!

Baby Paxton asleep on Brooke's lap, it was soo cute! He stayed up waaay past his bedtime and did so good!
